holiday plans!

Yippee! I'm spending Christmas eve, snuggled on the floor by the wood stove reading my new copy of The Foreclosure Survival Guide! Does it get any better than that?

I am truly thankful for what I have had in life. I just wish I could get a job so I could contribute to the economy instead of becoming another foreclosure/homeless statistic, further bringing down the housing market. It's particularly painful, because I put a lot of money down on this house—over 100k—everything I had from the sale of my last house, and it's all going to go away to a bank that has gotten billions in bailouts. Just doesn't seem right.

Live and learn, right? I'd rather not be learning this particular lesson at age 54.

  1. Wishing you a Merry Christmas doesn't seem quite right. Merry is not the right word. I wish for you peace for your soul and help along your journey where you need it. May you be presented with the answers before you even know you need a solution, including a job. I bless you today and hope you can find some of what I found. When I realized that my circumstances don't fit into the Norman Rockwell Christmas painting, and I found myself outside looking in, I decided to totally give it up and see what happens.
So, a few years later, I still don't "do" Christmas, and am much more peaceful and satisfied. I managed to unplug from the Christmas machine and watch as everyone around me is sucked into the vortex.

  2. Thank you so much for your comment! And yes, I've unplugged from the machine too; I just have one child and we'll make one or two presents, have a feast, and be done with it. So much better than the mad frenzy of shopping malls and obligatory family visiting.
